COUNTY TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION SPECIALIST QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

 

  1. Hold Valid West Virginia Teacher Certification/Licensure. 
  2. The candidate should have teaching experience, classroom management skills and effective communication and interpersonal skills;
  3. An understanding of fundamental learning theories and methods of instruction blended with knowledge of technology;
  4. Expertise with strategies for integrating technology into the curriculum such as interactive web activities, online resources, digital portfolios and other forms of classroom assessment as deemed appropriate;
  5. Expertise with efficient technology strategies for project-based learning (PBL), differentiated instruction (DI), response through intervention (TRI) and backward design.

 

REPORTS TO:  Technology Coordinator

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

All professional educators must: maintain valid educator licensure at all times, renew educator licenses as set forth by WVDE, maintain positive work habits, perform duties as assigned and directed, maintain and upgrade professional skills, communicate effectively and exhibit professional teaching knowledge and strategies.  

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

             

  1. Assess technology knowledge and skill levels of staff.
  2. Integrate 21st Century Skills and learning into the classroom.  
  3. Identify software, curriculum, teaching strategies & other educational resources available to meet specific school, teacher and student needs.
  4. Collaborate/coordinate with teachers to support the use of technology in delivery of curricula through a variety of instructional strategies.
  5. Adhere to and communicate copyright as well as other laws and guidelines pertaining to the distribution and ethical use of all resources.
  6. Model the integration of technology in all curriculum areas, providing an emphasis in curriculum areas causing the school to be identified for improvement.
  7. Conduct staff development training in the areas of technology integration, the WV College and Career Readiness Standards for Technology and Computer Science (Policy 2520.14), educator technology standards as reflected in WV Policy 5310 Performance Evaluations of School Personnel and various statewide technology resources as well as county/school software applications.
  8. Participate in meetings and professional development structured by WVDE.  ($125.00/day stipend shall be provided for all required training.)
  9. Participate in professional development in regard to maintaining most current certification.
  10. Provide support in the areas of S.T.E.A.M., softwared administration, and digital textbooks.
  11. Assist with state testing.
  12. Serve as school's social media contact
  13. Meet monthly with school principal to discuss concerns regarding the needs of the staff.  
  14. Provide instruction and resources for internet safety (CIPA Internet Safety, PRO technology saftey presentations)
  15. Maintain inventory.
  16. Level I Tech Support.
  17. Update Technology Plan and other policies.
  18. Develop How To Guides.
  19. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent. 
  20. Accountability for this position is determined through the utilization of the following methods:  Monthly activity reports (E-Portfolios); Pre/Post TIS Professional Development Surveys; School Assessment for the Integration of Technology; Monitoring Instruments; Onsite classroom observations and monitoring; Trend analysis of targeted needs and student achievement from year to year; Presentation Showcase: A year in Review Multi-Media Project focusing on technology integration in the school and district.

 

TERM:  220-Day contract to begin the 2021-2022 school year.
